Program Trains Teachers in the Biomedical Sciences
IUPUI News Center, June 22, 2007 - More than 80 percent of the fastest growing occupations in the U.S. depend upon a knowledge base in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). That's why 33 high school teachers from across the country are participating in a biomedical sciences pilot program at IUPUI, June 18-30, 2007.

BackPack Attack is Underway
Fox 59 News, June 21, 2007 – That’s right, the BackPack Attack is underway. Each year IUPUI, United Way, the Children’s Museum and the YMCA team up to collect school supplies for children in need. Last year 400,000 items were collected, given to school social workers and then distributed to students.

IU Joins 9 Black Colleges to Increase the Number of Minorities in Science

Infants at Higher Risk for Elevator Injuries
LifeScience.com, June 19, 2007 – Children under age 2 have the greatest risk of all kids for being injured by an elevator, according to a new study. As elevator doors close, mothers may not realize the vulnerability of babies in strollers or in their arms, said Joseph O’Neil, pediatrician at the Indiana University School of Medicine and co-author of the study.
