IUPUI to Host Campuswide Welcome Reception for IU’s Next President

On Monday (March 5), IUPUI Chancellor Charles Bantz and the IUPUI campus will roll out the red carpet for Indiana University President-elect Michael A. McRobbie.

IUPUI will host a Welcome Reception for IU President-elect McRobbie from 1:30 to 3 p.m., Monday on the lower level of University Library. This reception is an opportunity for all IUPUI faculty, staff, and students to meet the future head of Indiana University and hear his vision for the university’s future. This event is also an opportunity for faculty, staff and students to convey the unique and exciting initiatives taking place on the IUPUI campus.

David Stocum Releases Regenerative Biology Textbook

David Stocum, professor of biology, director of the Center for Biology and Medicine and former dean of the School of Science, has written a new book, Regenerative Biology and Medicine. The peer-reviewed text examines different facets of regenerative biology-from the developmental plasticity of adult stem cells to the regeneration of appendages. It provides an overview of basic and clinically-oriented research while addressing bioethical issues and challenges. Reviewers call the text "a landmark publication for regenerative medicine" and "a definitive foundation for researchers in the field." Academic Press/Elsevier released the textbook in November 2006.
