Anthropology students are once again uncovering the buried past as the 2005 IUPUI Archaeology Field School runs through June 22. So far the dig site near the IUPUI campus has unearthed a diverse collection of household items, along with what is believed to be a pet burial site.

Real-Life Issues Spur Reading Among All Students, Study Shows

Toni Morrison's “The Big Box,” Madonna's “Mr. Peabody's Apples,” and Karen Hess' “Witness,” are hits among a broad spectrum of students learning to read, according to an IUPUI professor directing a collaborative study with teachers in the Indianapolis Public Schools system.

The books are classified as critical literature, a genre known over the past decade for increasing the thinking skills required for general population students learning to read.

IUSM Library as Pin-up

A photograph of the IUSM Library has been selected to be published on the front cover of the Elsevier & Majors 2005 Calendar. Elsevier, a major international publisher of print and electronic books, journals and databases, ran a competition for the best photograph of a medical library.
