Exemplary Volunteers Do Love Their Neighbors
In a report released this month, Laura Littlepage, a research analyst at the IUPUI Center for Urban Policy and the Environment, led a group of researchers to evaluate the role of faith in motivating exemplary volunteers. Funded by a grant from the Indiana University Center on Philanthropy, the researchers studied the winners of national volunteer awards.

The IUPUI Dance Marathon 2005 was held March 4 at the Natatorium. The 14-hour dance stand-a-thon, which included a Battle of the Bands and line dancing, raised money for Riley Hospital for Children, located on the IUPUI campus. IUPUI students who participated in the annual fund-raiser included, Kaitlyn Christopher, Miss Indiana USA. |

Family Medicine Chair Saluted by State Health Agency
The chairman of the Indiana University Department of Family Medicine is the recipient of the Indiana State Health Commissioner Award for Excellence.
Dr. Douglas B. McKeag, the OneAmerica Professor and director of the IU Center for Sports Medicine, was cited for his active role and accomplishments in public health, particularly his leadership of the Indiana University Arthritis Initiative.
The award is given to those who are leaders in promoting, protecting and providing for the health of Hoosiers. |

> Donations Needed for Fund-raiser
The Indiana University Librarians Association (InULA) is asking for donations of books, journals/magazines, posters, audio cassettes, videos, and CDs for this year’s book sale. Proceeds from the sale, April 17-20, will fund scholarships for library science students and librarians. Donations may be dropped off at IUPUI University Library. Human Resources Administration will offer the Fundamentals of Supervision Series (FOS) from 9 a.m. to noon, Wednesdays, March 23 - May 11 in the Union Building Roof Lounge (UN 6th floor).
