CNN Capitol Hill Correspondent Jonathan Karl discussed anticipated changes in Washington politics in light of the outcome of the Nov. 5, 2002 election.

FIFTH ANNUAL BULEN SYMPOSIUM
Government TV 2 programming is featuring excerpts from the fifth annual Bulen Symposium on American Politics held Nov. 25 at IUPUI. Symposium guests included CNN correspondent Jonathan Karl, and Pulitzer Prize-winners Juan Williams of National Public Radio, and Haynes Johnson of Merrill College of Journalism, the University of Maryland. More than 150 people attended the symposium which focused on the outcome of the November 2002 elections and the current status of the two-party system in American politics. The annual event is sponsored by the School of Liberal Arts.

Bulen Symposium sessions currently airing on Comcast 28 and Time/Warner 17 are:

"Life on the Mississippi and Other Adventures of 2002" - Juan Williams' keynote address recounting his coverage of the 2002 elections, 12 a.m., 6 a.m., 12 p.m. and 6 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 7.

"2002: Who Won Where and Why?" - Panel discussion featuring IUPUI Professor Margaret R. Ferguson, Curtis Gans of the Committee for the Study of the American Electorate, IU Bloomington Professor Gerald Wright, and The Chicago Tribune correspondent Jeff Zeleny, 12 a.m., 6 a.m., 12 p.m., 6 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 7.

Herron student Annemarie Pankratz's wiggle chair is currently on exhibit at the Herron Gallery. The student exhibition runs through Dec. 14.


IUB, IUPUI, AND PURDUE MARK I-LIGHT ANNIVERSARY, HIGHLIGHT STATE UNIVERSITY PARTNERSHIP
In December of last year, Governor Frank O'Bannon symbolically launched I-Light, a fiber optic network connecting Indiana University Bloomington, IUPUI, and Purdue University's West Lafayette campus to each other, and to the national Internet2 infrastructure. One year later, the network is already enabling important new research and applications while realizing cost savings for the campuses and the State. These achievements were celebrated at the I-Light Applications Workshop, December 4, at IUPUI.

The Mid-Continent Conference announced that IUPUI men's soccer defender Ben Higginbotham has been named First Team All Conference by league coaches.

INDY BAR ASSOCIATION HONORS THREE IU SCHOOL OF LAW-INDIANAPOLIS STUDENTS
Two IU School of Law-Indianapolis students recently received the first student recognition awards presented by the Indianapolis Bar Association (IBA). The IBA also named a third IU School of Law-Indianapolis student to its board of managers.
