FORUM TO EXPLORE EFFECTS OF WAR ON TERRORISM ON CIVIL RIGHTS
A 9/11 Lunch & Learn Forum will explore the effects of the "war on terrorism" on the civil rights of U.S. citizens and immigrant populations.

Do more restrictive government regulations, increased surveillance to support national security interests, and government questioning and detention of persons of Middle Eastern/Muslim backgrounds lead to restrictions on civil rights for all of us? Such are the questions to be addressed during the forum from noon to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22, Lower Level, University College.

The panel discussion will include perspectives from legal experts, the Muslim-American community, and a local community advocate, with opportunity for audience participation. Presenters are: Sheila Seuss Kennedy, assistant professor, School of Public and Environmental Affairs, IUPUI; Ken Falk, Indiana Civil Liberties Union, adjunct professor, IU School of Law-Indianapolis; Scott Hohl, former president, IUPUI Muslim Students Association.
