Herron School of Art students will display six colorful and wacky art cars as part of the 500 Festival’s Interactive Zone on May 24. The Interactive Zone, a supplement to the 500 Festival Parade, will provide entertainment to coincide with the theme, “Art in Motion.”

Herron Art Cars Displayed at 500 Festival Parade Site
IUPUI’s Herron School of Art students will bring creativity and humor to the 500 Festival’s Interactive Zone, May 24, with the display of six colorful and wacky art cars they created as part of Herron Art Cars. The Interactive Zone, which will be located on Michigan Street between Pennsylvania and Meridian streets, is a supplement to the 500 Festival Parade in providing entertainment to coincide with this year’s theme, “Art in Motion.”

Running the Indy 500: Earlier this semester about 30 cadets in the IUPUI Army ROTC Department participated in a 2.5 mile Battalion Run at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Approximately 20 cadets are helping provide security at the Speedway this month during activities associated with the Indy 500, including Sunday's (May 25) race. Cadet volunteers will also help provide security for the Formula One race.
The Battalion Run is one of several annual events designed to develop camaraderie and esprit de corps among the campus ROTC unit, known as the Capital Warrior Battalion.
