TRUDY BANTA NAMED TO LUMINA FOUNDATION FOR EDUCATION'S ACADEMIC ADVISORY COUNCIL
The Lumina Foundation for Education has announced that Trudy Banta, vice chancellor of planning and institutional improvement at IUPUI, will join its Academic Advisory Council. This newly created Council, composed of 12 leaders in higher education policy, practice and research from across the country, will advise the Foundation on relevant issues in higher education access and degree attainment, and recommend research, program and policy initiatives.

GRADUATION CEREMONIES SET FOR MORE THAN 200 IUPUI COMMUNITY LEARNING NETWORK STUDENTS
Graduation ceremonies for the 225 students who this year completed non-credit certificate programs through the IUPUI Community Learning Network (CLN) will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday (May 19) at the Glendale Mall, 6101 N. Keystone Ave.

IUPUI JAGUARS SUMMER GIRLS BASKETBALL, VOLLEYBALL CAMPS SET
The IUPUI Jaguars Girls Basketball/Volleyball Camps for girls in grades 4-8 will be held June 18-22.

Head Women's Basketball Coach Kris Simpson and Head Women's Volleyball Coach Steve Payne, along with their staffs, will direct the camps. The volleyball camp will be held from 9 a.m. - noon, and the basketball camp hours are 1 - 4 p.m. The goal of each camp is to teach the fundamental skills of the game. Cost is $90 to attend one camp only, or $160 to attend both camps.

The camps will help each camper learn and develop age-appropriate skills and techniques to improve their game. Campers will receive individual instruction, be grouped by age and skill level and have the opportunity to learn from Division I college players. There will be individual and team competitions in the air-conditioned gym at the Natatorium. Other camp perks include a camp T-shirt and camp certificate and awards.

Engineering student shows plans to new home owner

Last week students, faculty and staff from the School of Engineering and Technology helped build what is thought to be the first "green" Habitat for Humanity house in Indiana. Nathan King (above left), one of the home's new owners, looks at a design board, showing colors and materials to be used inside the house, held by interior design student Kerry Little. Interior design students sought environmentally friendly donations for the house that matched the King's preferences.
