"Curiosity, Confidence and Challenge!" - A Conference for Girls on Careers in Math, Science and Technology.

Lutheran High School freshman Molly Meiners, 15 (above left), conducts a test using alcohol and water during a daylong conference held March 9 at IUPUI. More than 300 sixth- through eighth-grade girls explored careers in math, science and technology during interactive classes sponsored by the Purdue Schools of Science, and Engineering and Technology, Dow AgroSciences, the Dow Chemical Company Foundation and Sycamore School.
The girls participated in hands-on experiments in two dozen workshops on various career fields, including computer animation, biotechnology, botany, archaeology, architecture, criminology, pediatric medicine and zoology/marine biology.
Mark Booth (above right) is shown with a great horned owl during the "Take Flight! Birds of Prey" workshop designed to teach the girls about the ancient art of falconry.

TECHNOLOGY CONCEPT PAPER INVITES COMMENTS
Faculty, staff, deans, and community members met in October to discuss how IUPUI can use its investments in technology to enhance student achievement (especially undergraduate retention) and reduce costs. TOP 100 STUDENTS ANNOUNCED
The Alumni Relations Office has announced the Top 100 Students of IUPUI. A selection committee of faculty, staff and alumni selected the Top 100 from 220 nominated students.
The Top 10 Male and Top 10 Female students, as well as the Most Outstanding Individual Male and Female, will be named at the Top 100 Award dinner on April 5 at the Marriott Downtown. All 100 students will be recognized at the dinner. Secretary of State and IUPUI alumna Sue Anne Gilroy will be the keynote speaker. This annual recognition is sponsored by the Student Organization for Alumni Relations, the IUPUI Alumni Advisory Council and the Office of Alumni Relations.
