Some skills students can’t gain in the classroom alone: working in a professional setting, building a network, or deciding if a career is the right fit. That’s why the Office of Student Employment connects IUPUI students with part-time job opportunities to enhance academic and professional growth. The office received the 2016 Midwest Association of Student Employment Administrators Award for Excellence in Innovation for its contributions to student employment.Read more about the award
Getting a head start
A record number of incoming freshmen at IUPUI are in the midst of what may be the most important two weeks of their collegiate careers. Nearly 1,100 freshmen are attending IUPUI's Summer Bridge program, which helps incoming students “bridge” the gap between high school and college. Participants live on campus and attend specialized classes to help them prepare for the start of the fall semester.Read more about the Summer Bridge program

For the Confucius Institute, a partnership between IUPUI and Sun Yat-sen University in China, the answer is “yes.” But that’s just one of its unique contributions to Indianapolis.
