We'll talk about 'postfeminism' in the post-patriarchy.
Some people claim that there is no longer any need for feminism. To these people, I have to ask: what about the pay gap? what about the extreme violence that men perpetrate against women? what about the sexual double standard? What about bride burning? It hardly seems like women and men are similarly situated.
There are many classifications of feminist thought, but Women United attempts to unite women in their struggle against theinterlocking systems of domination, avoiding pitfalls that pit women against eachother. Women United is pro-woman, but not anti-man. We welcome men in Women United. The struggle against patriarchy is not a zero-sum game. We aim not only to eliminate structures that oppress women, but also those that oppress men.
What has Women United been doing?
