Dear Mrs. (Last name):

I would like to thank you for the time you set aside and the interview that was conducted on Friday, February 5th. It was very generous of you to meet with me and discuss several aspects of radiation therapy. As an educator at our university, I realize the value of your time.

The insight you provided me to the field of radiation therapy is greatly appreciated. From our discussion I have gained a clearer understanding of the radiation therapist’s role. In addition, our discussion has allowed me to determine specific writing goals to accomplish that are fundamental to the success of the radiation therapist. More specifically, you have allowed me to see how each patient’s well being is dependent on series of concise, impartial communications between the therapists, whether they be written or verbal. Besides learning what is expected of me as a radiation therapist, our discussion has allowed me to contemplate goals as lofty as authoring studies that impact the field. You explained to me that the field is relatively new and that there are ample opportunities for the therapist to contribute to the field through research, and I find this idea particularly intriguing.

Again, I want to thank you for providing me with such helpful and interesting information, most of which I was able to relate to my class. I wish you continued success in your professional career and I look forward to seeing you when I enter the professional radiation therapy program here at IUPUI.

Sincerely,
