Frost, J., Forrest, J. (1995, September/October). Understanding
the impact of effective teenage pregnancy prevention programs. Family
Planning Perspective,27, 188-195.
Abstract: This article is a review of
the evaluations of five pregnancy prevention programs. All the programs
incorporated a delay in sexual activity or abstinence as a form of
prevention. Sexual initiation among teenagers was reduced by 15% within
a year or two after the end of these programs.
Application: This article evaluates five pregnancy
prevention programs and compares their findings. This information
will be helpful in presesnting factual information about other successful
prevention programs. It will also help to design evaluations for a
proposed program.
