The University Writing Center (UWC) is a service available to all IUPUI students, faculty, and staff, at both the graduate and undergraduate level. It is a place where students can go for help with writing assignments and projects. The UWC offers students the opportunity to work one-on-one with experienced readers and writers.

To better serve the IUPUI community, the UWC offers two convenient locations: Cavanaugh 008H and University Library 2125. Both centers are staffed with the same experienced faculty and student tutors. The service is provided through the IUPUI School of Liberal Arts, the English Department and the Writing Program.

BREAKING NEWS! Undergraduates, graduate students, and faculty may now schedule their own 30-minute appointments here: Online Scheduling. Please remember that graduates and faculty members must work only with Faculty Consultants. The UWC will close at 4pm On Thursday, May 2. We will reopen at 9am on Wednesday, May 8 for Summer I. Our Mission Statement

The University Writing Center supports students, faculty, and staff who write. Its staff is composed of experienced Writing Program faculty and carefully selected student consultants from various disciplines. Through their efforts, the University Writing Center assists and supplements writing instruction on IUPUI's campus. It supports undergraduate and graduate writers from schools and disciplines across campus. It supports all writers: those who struggle to put words on paper as well as those who write effectively but value feedback from other readers and writers.

If you are a student, staff, or faculty member, the Writing Center is a place where you can sit down with an experienced reader who will provide assistance with your writing.  UWC consultants aid both experienced and inexperienced writers at all stages of the writing process, and in any discipline. Additionally, consultants can assist you with other writing-related projects such as resumes, scholarship letters, etc..
