Vascular Surgery Section
The Section of Vascular Surgery of the Surgery Department at Indiana University School of Medicine consists of 6 faculty members and their supporting staff. Dr. Michael C. Dalsing is the chief of the section. Other clinical faculty include Drs. Dolores Cikrit, Michael P. Murphy, Ryan Nachreiner, Alan P. Sawchuk, and Shoaib Shafique. Research faculty include three PhDs — Joseph L. Unthank, Steven J. Miller and Zorina S. Gallis.
Vascular Surgery places a high priority on both research and teaching activities. Research activities range from basic research projects investigating the pathophysiological basis of vascular diseases to clinical trials evaluating protocols, medicines, and techniques to improve patient care. The section participates in training for future clinicians and biomedical researchers through various educational programs of Indiana University School of Medicine.
