2011 Indiana Achievement Awards

The Indiana Achievement Awards celebration, hosted by the IUPUI Solution Center, was held as the crowning event of the Indiana Nonprofit Capacity Building Conference on September 28, 2011. Six Indiana nonprofit organizations were honored for exemplary practices and demonstrated effectiveness. You can read their stories in the Indianapolis Business Journal.

Congratulations 2011 IAA winners!

Honorable Mention Honorees:

IAA winners received a $5,000 cash award while honorable mentions received $1,000.  All honorees also received an organizational video produced specifically for them by WFYI Productions, and an online media program created for them by Incite, a social media marketing firm and division of Emmis Communication.

Since 2002, the IAA has partnered with the Indianapolis Business Journal to also present the Michael A. Carroll Award.  This year, the IBJ honored John Thompson, chairman and chief executive officer, Thompson Distribution Co., Inc. & First Electric Supply Company, LLC, for his determination, humility, and devotion to the Indianapolis community.
Tarik Glenn, co-founder of D.R.E.A.M. Alive and retired offensive lineman of the Indianapolis Colts, provided the keynote address and emceed the IAA ceremony.  Teresa Bennett, director of the IUPUI Solution Center said, “The Solution Center supports innovative work in businesses and nonprofit organizations in the state of Indiana. The IAA serves as a platform to highlight the important role nonprofits play in the quality of life and economy of the state.”
