Take the First Steps

Are you interested in hiring an intern from IUPUI?  Please follow these simple steps.

First, review the “Elements of Effective Experiential Learning” from the National Association for Colleges and Employers.

Second, consider the “Legal Issues Surrounding Internships” from the National Association for Colleges and Employers.

Third, use our Intern Position Description writing guide to write your intern’s position description.  If you need additional assistance in creating your Intern Position Description, go to our Intern Request Form here and submit it to us for review.  A Solution Center staff member will be in touch in 5 business days to discuss your internship.

Fourth, once you’re comfortable with your Intern Position Description, you can get your position to students on campus using our career postings website, www.iupuitalent.net.

Fifth, once you identify some interns for an interview, try out our suggested interview questions for interns.

Lastly, use our sample internship goals to develop a clear set of goals and evaluation structure for your students.
