Teresa A. Bennett, Executive Director

Teresa A. Bennett is Assistant Vice Chancellor in the Office of Community Engagement with primary responsibilities for continuing education and professional development initiatives, developing and implementing strategic relationships, and community and corporate outreach and partnerships. She also serves as Executive Director for Professional Development and Corporate Education, an initiative of the IUPUI Office of Community Engagement, in which she develops programs and partnerships in support of Central Indiana strategic goals for economic development by building and retaining a talented workforce. Prior positions include Founding Director of the IUPUI Solution Center; Director of Strategic Relations for the Purdue University Center for Education and Research in Information Assurance and Security (CERIAS) in West Lafayette; Director of Recruitment and Industry Relations for the Purdue School of Engineering and Technology, IUPUI; and Communication Director and Senior Editor for the Center for Urban Policy and the Environment (now Public Policy Institute), School of Public and Environmental Affairs, IUPUI. Ms. Bennett also is an Associate Faculty member in the School of Public and Environmental Affairs teaching graduate and undergraduate capstone courses at IUPUI since 2008, in which students have conducted over 100 socially relevant community-based research projects to date for Indiana nonprofits, businesses, and government agencies. Ms. Bennett earned a Bachelor’s degree in Communication majoring in Public Relations and Issue Management from Purdue University, West Lafayette, and a Master’s degree in Policy Analysis (MPA) from the School of Public and Environmental Affairs, Indianapolis. She serves on several community and campus boards and committees.
Connie Anoskey, Assistant Business Manager for the IUPUI Office of Community Engagement. Ms. Anoskey was the previous Business Manager for IUPUI Solution Center. She previously worked for Avon Community School Corporation as the Payroll Coordinator and Kiwanis International Foundation as a Project Specialist. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Business from Indiana Institute of Technology. Ms. Anoskey is in charge of fiscal and grant operations for the Office of Community Engagement.

Shohn Beeson, Program Manager

Shohn Beeson, Program Manager for Professional Development and Corporate Education, an initiative of the IUPUI Office of Community Engagement. He has been programming classes for six years and his class portfolio includes Computer Software, Education, Veterinary Medicine and Motorsports. Shohn has worked at IUPUI since 2001 in various offices throughout the university; he worked at the IUPUI Community Learning Network as the Contract Training Coordinator, General Studies as a Recruiter, The Enrollment Center as an Enrollment Advisor, and Continuing Studies Department as the off campus Center Manager of the IUPUI Greenwood Learning Center.

Janie Faulkner, Director of Finance and Administration

Janie M. Faulkner, Director of Finance and Administration for the IUPUI Office of Community Engagement. Ms. Faulkner was the Fiscal Officer for IUPUI Community Learning Network and has been employed with IUPUI since February of 1998. She previously worked for the State of Indiana as a Grants Manager with the Indiana Commission on Community Service and a Senior Contract Auditor with the Indiana Department of Transportation. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Accounting from Ball State University. Ms. Faulkner is in charge of human resource, fiscal and budgetary management, and operations for the Office of Community Engagement.

Teresa Francis, Communication Specialist

Teresa Francis, Communication Specialist for the IUPUI Office of Community Engagement. She was formally the Communication Assistant for the IUPUI Solution Center. Teresa performs and coordinates internal and external communication, marketing and reporting efforts, oversees and implements website content, plans and executes newsletters and social networking content, and supports event planning. Teresa holds a B.A in Communication with a minor in Music from IUPUI, and an M.A. in Applied Communication from IUPUI. She has previous experience in media relations at Pacers Sports & Entertainment and film programming at Heartland Film.

Dr. Silvia Garcia, Assistant Director for Research

Silvia Garcia, Ph.D., Assistant Director for Research for IUPUI Family, School, and Neighborhood Engagement, Office of Community Engagement. She was previously the Research & Evaluation Specialist for Professional Development and Corporate Education, IUPUI Office of Community Engagement (formerly the IUPUI Solution Center). At the IUPUI Solution Center, Dr. Garcia conducted two assessments on the overall impact of the Solution Center and the impact of the center’s JPMorgan Chase Near Eastside Legacy Initiative. She holds two master’s degrees. Her second master’s degree, Public Affairs – Nonprofit Management was received from the IU School of Public and Environmental Affairs. She received her first Master of Education degree from Harvard University, and Ph.D. in Developmental Studies from Universidad Central de Venezuela, in Caracas, Venezuela. Dr. Garcia was a professor in the School of Education at the Universidad Simon Rodriguez in Venezuela, and has received international grants for development and evaluation of educational programs in Latin America. She was Director of Planning and Institutional Research, and Director of Development at the Universidad Simon Rodriguez. Before coming to IUPUI, Dr. Garcia was a Visiting Scholar at Indiana University-Bloomington in the Educational Leadership & Policy Studies Department.

Sara Griffin, Assistant Director for Outreach and Corporate Education

Sara Griffin, Assistant Director for Outreach and Corporate Education in Professional Development and Corporate Education, an initiative of the IUPUI Office of Community Engagement. Sara partners with business and community organizations to identify and serve their needs by developing strategic programming, corporate contracts, and related activities. Sara holds a B.A. in Theatre, and a B.A. in English from Franklin College, and recently received a M.A. in Philanthropic Studies from the IU Lilly School of Philanthropy.

Paige Woodard, Program Coordination and Client Support Intern

Paige Woodard, Intern for Professional Development and Corporate Education, an initiative of the Office of Community Engagement. Paige is a sophomore at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. She is currently pursuing a triple major in Finance, Management, and International Studies with a minor in Spanish. Paige primarily works with the PDCE staff to conduct research and continue development within the program.

LeAndre L. Level Jr., Program Coordination and Client Support Intern

LeAndre L. Level Jr., Intern for Professional Development and Corporate Education, an initiative of the Office of Community Engagement. LeAndre is a junior majoring in Political Science and minoring in Public Policy. He is politically active on IUPUI campus, and is currently the President of College Democrats at IUPUI as well as sits on IUPUI’s Political Engagement Committee. LeAndre is an Indianapolis native, and is interested in seeking a Master of Public Affairs and attending law school.
