The Solution Center focuses on six economic clusters of research and academic importance, as
identified by the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership and the Energize Indiana Project, which are
essentially important to Central Indiana.
Life Sciences and Health Sciences
IUPUI is a leader in Indiana’s life and health sciences, generating employment opportunities within
the state at twice the national rate. With programs such as the IHIE
and the Regenstrief Institute, and through faculty and students in IU’s schools of Informatics,
Nursing, Dentistry, Medicine, and Law and Purdue schools of engineering and technology and Science – all
on the IUPUI campus – the university has partners with pubic health officials, medical device and
pharmaceutical manufacturers, and healthcare providers to create a strong environment to advance the
life sciences and the health information technology sector.

schools including IU schools of Informatics, Business and Purdue schools of Engineering and Technology and
Science are highly skilled and trained in information technologies, with no fewer than seven schools contributing
