How to Prepare

  • Bring copies of your EDITED resume, a pen, and a portfolio to take notes.
  • Review our list of participating employers ahead of time and do some research.
  • Wear professional attire. Dress for the job you want, not the job you have.

What to Expect

  • When you arrive, you will be asked to sign in. Then you’ll be given a program that lists each employer, their location, and more information about the positions for which they are hiring.
  • Review the program first, marking each employer to which you’d like to speak.
  • Come ready to promote yourself. Be prepared to answer the question, “Tell me about yourself” with a list of your unique skills and competencies.
  • Make sure to ask the employers questions about the position, such as: flexibility in scheduling, job responsibilities, company’s product or service, benefits and tuition assistance, and hiring process.
  • Find out how you can follow-up about the position after the fair. Get the name and contact information for following-up. Be proactive!
