I am an assistant professor in the Department of Radiology at the Indiana University School of Medicine. Our laboratory is affiliated with the IU Center for Neuroimaging (CfN) at the Indiana Institute of Biomedical Imaging Sciences (IIBIS) and the Center for Computational Biology and Bioinformatics (CCBB).
Our laboratory is focused on research and training in medical imaging, computational biology, and bioinformatics. We study cutting-edge computational and informatics methods, and turn them into practical tools that can help computers better understand digital data (e.g., 1-D sequences, 2-D images, and 3-D shapes) in practical applications. In particular, we are currently working on various neuroimaging and bioinformatics projects. In these projects, we apply, extend or develop state-of-art software tools for analyzing structural and functional neuroimaging data as well as genomic and other related biomarker data. The ultimate goal is to improve early diagnosis and mechanistic understanding of disease processes and treatment response for brain disorders such as Alzheimer's disease and schizophrenia, as well as the cognitive effects of cancer chemotherapy. The computational methods we study include (1) image & vision computing, (2) data mining & pattern recognition, and (3) geometric modeling & graphics. Postdoc and RA Positions: We are looking for (1) motivated PhD students (from Indiana University or Purdue University) and (2) postdoctoral fellows with background in medical image analysis, bioinformatics, image and vision computing, statistics, or machine learning to work with our group on various neuroimaging, neuroinformatics, and bioinformatics projects. Please check our Publications and Research pages for more information about our research activities. If you are interested, please email me (shenli@iupui.edu) for additional information. |
