General Indexes
These indexes are good places to start most research projects. If you need help
with a particular index, check with a librarian.
- Lexis/Nexis
Universe is a wonderful place to start for news, politics, or legal
issues. It also has a biographical index you can check for more
information on current authors.
- The library maintains provides access to groups of electronic indexes. The
Infotrac databases include the Expanded Academic Index (which contains both
full-text articles and abstracts) and the National Newspaper Index. Just
follow the directions on the screen.
- The EBSCO databases are many!
Click on the login button that will appear when you follow the EBSCO link here, and then
choose your database. Remember, if you don't find what you need, choose another index.
The EBSCOhost offers you index to
many national indexes, such as
- Academic Search Full-Text Elite
- MasterFile Full Text 1500, another full text database
- The Newspaper Source, of national newspapers
- MAS Full Text Premier,which indexes book reviews as well as magazine articles
