Admission-Based Scholarships for International Students*
IUPUI Chancellor's Scholarship
$12,000 annually for 4 years
Students who have applied for admission by December 1 who have a minimum high school GPA of 3.75 (on a 4.0 scale) with a minimum 1250 SAT or 28 ACT score may be eligible for this scholarship. Chancellorís Scholars are automatically admitted to the IUPUI Honors College. The Honors College provides access to specialized advising, state-of-the-art facilities, and opportunities to conduct research and participate in leadership development. To be considered for renewal, students must attend full time, be an active participant in the Honors College and maintain a 3.3 GPA (no separate application required). *Chancellor's Scholarships are not available for Spring Entry students*
Valedictorian and Salutatorian Scholarships
$10,000 annually for 4 years
Students who have applied for admission by February 1, who are ranked first or second in their high school class may qualify for this scholarship. To be considered for renewal, students must attend full time and maintain a 3.0 GPA (no separate application is required).Students considered for this scholarship must graduate from a class of 25 students or higher. *Students who also meet the Chancellor's Scholarship criteria above will receive an additional $4,000 for a total award of $14,000 annually.*
Dean’s Recognition Scholarship (DRS)
$8,000 annually for 4 years
Students who have applied for admission by February 1 who have a minimum high school GPA of 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale) and who score 1200 or higher on the SAT (575 Math only score for international students from non- English speaking countries) or 26 on the ACT may be eligible for this scholarship. To be considered for renewal, students must attend full time and maintain a 3.0 GPA (no separate application required).
IUPUI Service Award
$5,000 annually for 4 years
Students who have applied for admission by February 1 who have a minimum high school GPA of 3.25 (on a 4.0 scale) (or 550 Math score only for international students from non- English speaking countries) may be eligible for this scholarship. Recipients must volunteer for 20 hours of service at IUPUI events annually. To be considered for renewal, students must attend full time and maintain a 3.0 GPA (no separate application required).
International Ambassador Award
ELS Ambassador Award
$5,000 renewable up to 4 years
To be eligible for consideration, international students must be admitted as beginning freshmen by May 1st for the fall semester with a 2.5 minimum GPA and submit one of the following: a minimum iBT TOEFL score of 80, a minimum SAT Critical Reading Score of 450, or an IELTS score of 6.0 may be eligible for this award. The ELS Ambassador Award is based on successful completion of ELS Language Centers Level 112.
Recipients must volunteer annually for 15 hours of service at IUPUI events that have an international theme. To be considered for renewal, students must maintain a 3.0 GPA.
IUPUI Housing Stipend
$2,500 one-time award
Non-resident students who are eligible for one of the above awards (as well as submit a housing application by April 1st – tentative) will receive this one-time housing stipend.

IUPUI Honors College
The IUPUI Honors College offers high ability incoming freshmen the opportunity to apply the Bepko Scholars and Fellows Program and the Plater International Scholars Program. Bepko Scholars and Fellows Program
Scholarship & Admission Application Deadline: November 15 – In-state (rate) undergraduate tuition, fees, and books for four years of study, two years of on-campus housing, and up to $5,000 per year for four years of graduate or professional study at IUPUI.
The Bepko Scholars and Fellows Program is designed for students who demonstrate integrity, dedication, leadership, and a commitment to service. This highly competitive scholarship program provides financial, academic, and programming support to academically motivated and civically engaged students throughout their undergraduate and post-graduate years. Students selected for this scholarship program receive undergraduate tuition (up to the Indiana resident rate), fees, a $2,500 study abroad stipend, and books for four years of study. Bepko Scholars also receive two years of on-campus housing and are required to live in the Honors Residential Learning Community, their freshman year. Bepko Scholars who attend IUPUI for graduate or professional study receive $5,000 per year for four years and are named Bepko Fellows.
Plater International Scholars Program
Scholarship & Admission Application Deadline: November 15 -- $12,000 per year for four years of study, also funding for a study abroad experience, and a partial housing stipend for living in International House for one year.
The Plater International Scholars Program is designed for exceptional incoming freshmen who are committed to combining academic excellence with global citizenship. This highly competitive scholarship program is for students with an interest in international affairs and cross-cultural experiences. Plater International Scholars will be actively involved in international programming, both off and on campus. In close cooperation with the Office of International Affairs, recipients of the Plater International Scholarship will be exposed to high profile international visitors, international seminars, and lectures. Students selected for this scholarship program receive $12,000 per year for four years of study, $2,500 for a study abroad experience, and a $2,500 housing stipend for International House, located in the Campus Apartments on the Riverwalk, for their freshman year.

Research Scholarship Programs
IUPUI Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP)
The Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program offers undergraduate research project and travel grants and conference travel funds to support and encourage undergraduates who participate in research and other creative projects with faculty in all disciplines, including music and art. Scholarship open to freshmen and sophomore students
The Olaniyan (Oh-LAWN-eee-yawn) Scholars Program offers academically gifted students interested in black studies and black populations the opportunity to work with a full-time faculty mentor to design a research project that will explore some issue or aspect of the lives, history, traditions, or interests of people of African descent. Students will also participate in community internships that encourage civic engagement and partnerships with organizations working to enrich, support, uplift, and encourage African and African American populations within the Indianapolis community. The program is open to students of all races, nationalities, and backgrounds with preference given to students from underrepresented populations in higher education. All scholars must enroll full time (12-15 credit hours), maintain at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA, participate in specific program functions and internship experiences, and meet regularly with their faculty mentor. Applicants can be Indiana or out-of-state residents (out-of-state applicants must contact the Scholarship Office/Financial Aid Office to apply for aid to cover the difference between in-state and out-of-state tuition), meet IUPUI’s regular admissions criteria, and have a cumulative 2.7 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) on their high school transcripts. Community Service Scholarships
Sam H. Jones Community Service Scholarship Program
*Freshman Service Scholarships

The Sam H. Jones Community Service Scholarship Program recognizes IUPUI students for previous service to their high school, campus, or community, and supports their continued involvement in educationally meaningful service, leadership, and social advocacy. Sam H. Jones was a dedicated public servant who provided dynamic leadership as the Chief Executive Officer of the Indianapolis Urban League. The program honors Sam Jones’ legacy as a community leader whose vision and dedication improved the quality of life for many in Central Indiana. The Freshman Service Scholarship recognizes students who have demonstrated a commitment to voluntary service through high school and/or community-based organizations. Applicants must meet regular admissions standards. Freshman Service Scholars agree to enroll in at least 9 credit hours per semester, including a required service learning class, and participate in planned community service activities during the year.

The personal essay should describe your service activities, how the service contributed to your school and/orcommunity, and the lessons you learned through your involvement with others.
