The Indiana University Foundation is pleased to offer a scholarship for working students
through the generosity of Jesse H. and Beulah Chanley Cox. Applicants must have completed
a minimum of 26 hours of coursework and be of sophomore standing for 2006-07 and demonstrate
financial need as determined by the FAFSA. They must be enrolled as full-time undergraduate
students on the IUPUI campus and maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA. Other requirements for
application include: be a resident of the state of Indiana; demonstrate a commitment to
funding your own education by working to contribute at least 25% of the standard cost of a
ttendance; be willing to participate in two special seminars during the academic year.

Assist Scholarship

This scholarship was created to assist single, custodial parents at IUPUI pursuing their first undergraduate
degree to help them meet educational goals by providing assistance with educational expenses. This scholarship
is financial need-based, although academic progress and potential are considered as well. Students must
have applied for financial aid and must have financial need as determined by the FAFSA and the Office
of Student Financial Aid Services. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and/or permanent residents who are
also Indiana residents. To be eligible, applicants must have completed at least 9 credit hours at IUPUI
with a minimum 2.75 GPA within the last year. Transfer students with 24 credit hours and at least a 3.0
GPA within the past year may also apply.
Nina
Mason Pulliam Legacy Scholars Program
Full In-state tuition, fees, books and living allowance
Deadline: April 1
This scholarship was created to honor Nina Mason Pulliam who was a journalist,
business leader, a humanitarian, and a lover of all creatures. This scholarship honors
the memory of this modern pioneer and is available to incoming freshmen, ages 18-25,
who have been raised through the child welfare system and have no form of financial support,
or are college age youth and adults with physical disabilities, or students who are 25
years or older who have dependents in their family unit. Applicants must be admitted
to IUPUI, be a U.S. citizen and resident of Indiana, have previously completed no more
than 24 college-level, degree-applicable credit hours, and be working toward their first
college degree. Priority is given to applicants who have household incomes of 80% or
less of the Marion County, Indiana median. Application requires an essay, an official
academic transcript and demonstrable financial need as determined by the FAFSA and at
least 2 letters of recommendation. If chosen as a finalist, an interview will also be

Scholarships from the State of Indiana are available for IUPUI students who have been admitted to the Schools
of Nursing and Education who meet other requirements. The state offers Nursing, Special Education, and Minority
Teaching Scholarships. Applications are available at the Schools of Education and Nursing, or call the Scholarship
Office to request that one be sent to you (317) 274-5516. A FAFSA must be on file. Requires re-application every year
for renewals. See application for additional eligibility criteria. Students must be admitted to their schools to be
eligible.

The Marion County Office of Family and Children awards students
who receive services provided by their office. If you currently
receive services through the Foster Parent Program or Child Welfare
Program, you are encouraged to apply. You must be a current IUPUI
student pursuing your first undergraduate degree, have a 3.0 GPA
and be registered for at least 6 credit hours. You must also provide
proof of your receipt of service (i.e your EBT card with name,

General Scholarships
*IUPUI International Experience Scholarship
$750-$3,000
Deadline: February 1 for summer, fall and academic year programs
October 15th for spring programs
This award is intended to support and encourage IUPUI undergraduate students in an approved study
abroad program. The award consists of a $750-3,000 gift, depending on program length. Candidates
must be students studying in Indianapolis and have been admitted to an overseas study program in
which they will earn credit towards an IUPUI degree program. Preference will be given to students
with a 2.75 cumulative GPA or above. The deadlines are February 1 for summer, fall and academic year

The Central Indiana Chapter of the IU Alumni Association created a scholarship program to recognize the accomplishments and financial need of Chapter area residents. Applicants must reside in Marion, Hamilton, Hendricks or Hancock County and be attending an Indiana University Campus the following semester. *Senior Academy Academic Scholarship

The Senior Academy at IUPUI has established a scholarship program designed to partially support tuition and books for students who are graduating seniors who expect to graduate with a baccalaureate degree at the end of the Spring Semester. Applications will be reviewed and the awardee selected by the Senior Academy Scholarship Awards Committee. Applicants must (1) be in good academic standing at IUPUI, (2) have successfully completed at least 90 credit-hours, (3) have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50 on a 4.00 scale, and (4) agree to enroll during the Fall-Spring Semesters for the number of credit-hours required to graduate at the end of the Spring Semester but for no less than a total of at least 20 credit-hours during the last year. The applicant must also submit two letters of recommendation, and complete an essay.

Ambassador Scholarship

To receive this scholarship a student must volunteer for the Campus
Visitation office for an average of 4 hours a week during each
semester of the academic year.Students must have a 2.5 cumulative
GPA, be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours and remain in good

Service Scholarships

H. Jones Community Service Scholarship
$3,500

The Sam H. Jones Community Service Scholarship Program recognizes IUPUI students for previous service to their high school, campus, or community, and supports their continued involvement in educationally meaningful service, leadership, and social advocacy. Sam H. Jones was a dedicated public servant who provided dynamic leadership as the Chief Executive Officer of the Indianapolis Urban League. The program honors Sam H. Jones’ legacy as a community leader whose vision and dedication improved the quality of life for many in Central Indiana.
Community Service Scholars will volunteer for four hours per week throughout the academic year at a select service agency. In addition, Community Service Scholars will enroll and complete a service learning course (P330) in the Fall, and work with others to coordinate a campus-wide service event. Applicants must have completed 15 IUPUI credit hours by the end of the spring semester of application, a 2.75 GPA and submit a two-page essay on the nature of the applicant’s service and how it affected the community. Two letters of recommendation must be submitted: one written by a faculty, staff or community representative familiar with the applicant’s service activity and academic achievement. At least one letter of recommendation must be from an IUPUI campus representative.

IUPUI
Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program
Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP) offers undergraduate research grants and travel funds to encourage and recognize undergraduates who participate in research and other creative projects with faculty in all disciplines, including music and art. Formal research credits may be earned toward graduation and may be translated into a research transcript notation upon completion of a research portfolio. Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation (LSAMP)
The Indiana LSAMP program offers summer and academic year research fellowships and awards to encourage eligible undergraduate students from ethnic populations traditionally under-represented in baccalaureate degree programs to persist and graduate from a Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or Technology program. A summer research fellowship includes working with a faculty mentor on a research project and attending a research conference. LSAMP participants receive a $3,000 stipend. MURI (Multidisciplinary Undergraduate Research Institute)
MURI is a research institute within the School of Engineering and Technology, IUPUI, established to foster inter/ multidisciplinary team research. Students are selected from different disciplines to participate as a team under the mentorship of engineering and technology faculty members or researchers. Projects normally involve more than one traditional science and engineering discipline. Ronald E. McNair Scholars Program
The Ronald E. McNair Scholars Program is a national scholarship program supported by the U.S. Department of Education and IUPUI. The program sponsors undergraduate students who are first-generation, low-income college attendees and students who are from populations that are under-represented in graduate education. The mission of the program is to encourage and support these student participants to aspire to and attain careers requiring the Ph.D. This highly selective and prestigious program engages students in faculty-mentored research throughout their undergraduate careers and supports them with a summer stipend. Students may be admitted as soon as they attain junior status and may apply in their sophomore year. Summer Research Opportunities Program (SROP)

SROP offers outstanding undergraduates the opportunity to conduct research during an intensive 8 week session. Students that have traditionally been underrepresented in graduate school, in their field of study, first-generation college students, or students who have a particular interest in conducting research on topics that affect minority populations are encouraged to apply for this competitive summer research program. The program gives undergraduate student first-hand exposure to the experiences of graduate school by placing them with faculty whose work is closely related to their academic interests and career goals. The summer experience includes working with a faculty mentor on a research project, attending research related seminars and workshops, attending an annual summer research conference, and networking with a diverse group of student-fellows in a variety of summer research programs. Fellows are awarded a stipend for their participation. Application deadline is February 28, 2007. Diversity Scholars Research Program (DSRP)

The Diversity Scholars Research Program (DSRP) supports academically talented students who will contribute to the diversity of IUPUI to pursue an education in the research setting. This scholarship program offers financial support to continuing students who apply and meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Minimum of 25 credit hours completed at IUPUI by end of spring semester during which the application is being made
- Have a minimum 3.5 grade point average
- Must have at least two remaining years of study at IUPUI (cannot be a senior)
- Contribute to the diversity at IUPUI (Essay required)

Norman Brown Diversity and Leadership Program

The Norman Brown Diversity & Leadership Program is designed to recruit, retain and prepare serious, academically gifted students who have demonstrated a commitment and/or desire to develop leadership skills for today’s multicultural world. Program participants are encouraged to attain academic success, engage in leadership and civic activities, and prepare for work force entry. All scholars are required to enroll full time; maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA; participate in specific program functions; and meet on a regular basis with an assigned IUPUI faculty/staff mentor. Continuing and transfer student applicants must be Indiana residents and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Continuing students are only considered for the fall semester. Preference is given to transfer student/continuing students who have completed 12 credit hours (but no more than 60 up to junior status).
All applicants are required to submit the following items: a) college transcript b) two letters of recommendation, and c) personal essay which must be double spaced, typed, and no longer than THREE typewritten pages. The essay must address ALL of the following questions:1) Why are you interested in being a Norman Brown Scholar? 2)What qualities do you feel are necessary to be a leader in a multicultural environment and how have you demonstrated these qualities in the past? 3)What challenges or obstacles have you overcome in order to pursue your dreams of going to college?4) How will you utilize you education and leadership skills to support individuals from underserved communities?
This program is an integral part of IUPUI’s efforts to foster the benefits of educational diversity, in part by assuring the obtainment of a critical mass of students from underrepresented minority backgrounds with a history of discrimination. As such, during the application process positive considerations are given to students from underrepresented minority backgrounds and whose presence will enhance the learning environment through increased diversity at IUPUI. Additional consideration is also given to students with significant financial need as defined by the FAFSA. Recipients must maintain fulltime enrollment, a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA and complete all program requirements.

Non-traditional and Transfer Scholarships
When applying for these scholarships be sure that you understand the following definitions:
1)Returning student: a student who is returning to formal education after a minimum of 5 years.
2) Non-traditional student: Any student beginning university studies after the age of 21 years.
3) Transfer student: a student who will be enrolling at IUPUI within the next academic year.

Scholarship

Open to adults returning to school after a minimum of five years,
who have completed at least six credit hours with a minimum 2.0
GPA in current course work. Must be seeking a certificate or undergraduate
degree, and be a resident of Central Indiana (Marion and its 8
surrounding counties). Applications available at the Scholarship

Outstanding GED Scholarship
$1,500 annually renewable for 2 years
Deadline: April 1st admission
Students who achieve an average standard score of 650 or higher
on the GED Test and are unconditionally admitted to IUPUI are
eligible to receive this scholarship (no separate application
required). Renewable with maintenance of a minimum 3.0 GPA and
full-time enrollment.

A. Carter Memorial Scholarship
Up to $500

This scholarship is designated for part-time returning and/or
non-traditional male students who may not otherwise qualify for
financial assistance. Students must exhibit qualities of caring
for others, desire to succeed and a strong work ethic. Preference
will be given to a student majoring in business. Applicants must have a mininum cumulative GPA of 3.0.

Senior Academy Returning-Student Scholarship

The Senior Academy at IUPUI has established a scholarship program designed to partially support tuition and books for students who, for some reason, dropped out of college-level status for at least 5 years and are now planning to return to school in order to complete their first undergraduate degree. Applications will be reviewed by the Senior Academy Scholarship Awards Committee. Applicants must (1) meet regular admission requirements to IUPUI, (2) have had a grade point average of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale for previous college credits, and (3) agree to enroll in at least 6 credit hours per semester at IUPUI. The applicant must also submit one letter of recommendation and complete an essay.

at IUPUI for the academic year for education and preparation for

Deadline: May 15th (Fall) and November 15th (Spring), admission and application Eligible applicants must have a minimum 3.3 GPA with at least 12 transferable credit hours, but no more than 60. This scholarship is renewable up to 2 years with the maintenance of full-time enrollment and a 3.0 GPA.

This scholarship is available to transfer students with a minimum
3.5 GPA and demonstrable financial need as defined by the FAFSA.

Theta Kappa (PTK) Scholarship
$1,500 annually, renewable
Deadline: May 15th (Fall) and November 15th (Spring), admission and application
This scholarship is available to PTK members who have completed an associate degree at any two-year college or Ivy Tech Community College. To be eligible, the applicant must have completed, or be within 6 months of completing an A.A., A.S., or A.A.S. degree with at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA upon graduation. Applications will be accepted six months prior to graduation. A final transcript, with degree noted, must be submitted before the scholarship is awarded. The recipient must be admitted and registered for classes at IUPUI within 2 years after graduating from any two-year college or Ivy Tech Community College. This scholarship can be awarded to both full-time and part-time students and must be used within three years of the initial award. The PTK scholarship will be renewable annually if the student maintains at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA at IUPUI. Students who receive the Passport-Academic Excellence Scholarship will be ineligible to also receive the PTK Scholarship at IUPUI.

Ivy Tech ( Indianapolis) Associate Degree graduates with a 3.3 cumulative GPA and an A.S. or A.A.S. intending to continue toward their bachelor degree at IUPUI are eligible to apply. A final transcript, with degree noted, must be submitted before the scholarship is awarded. The recipient must be admitted and registered for classes at IUPUI within 2 semesters after graduating. Students may enroll either full- or part-time. Scholarships are renewable annually if the student maintains a 3.0 GPA at IUPUI, and once activated the scholarship must be used within three years. Students with previous bachelor degrees are ineligible. Students who receive the PTK scholarship will be ineligible to also receive the Passport-Academic Excellence Scholarship at IUPUI.

This leadership award was established to recognize students who have demonstrated leadership abilities and an appreciation of basic American values through a record of achievement in community services or service to IUPUI. Juniors and seniors with a 3.5 GPA in academic work are eligible to apply. Preference is given to students in Liberal Arts, Science and Business.

Honors Scholarship
$1,500 / $750 part-time
Deadline: May 15th The IUPUI Continuing Student Honors Scholarship is a one-year scholarship primarily for students participating in the Honors Program, although students who are not in the Honors Program, but have taken honors courses, are also eligible to apply. All applicants must have completed at least 12 credit hours with at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA. Current recipients may reapply for renewal. Applications are available in the Honors Program office, University College, room 3140, or online at www.universitycollege.iupui.edu/honors. OTEAM Orientation and First Year Seminars
What’s OTEAM?
The OTEAM is a group of undergraduate students who lead the summer orientation programs and mentor the first year seminar
courses during the fall semester. OTEAM members receive a scholarship for their service to the campus community. In order
to be eligible for the OTEAM Leadership Scholarship you must meet the following:
- Must be a current undergraduate student at IUPUI.
- Applicant must be currently enrolled at IUPUI.
- Must have completed 12 credit hours at IUPUI.
- Must have a 2.8 GPA and be in good standing with the University.
- Possess positive communication and teamwork skills.
- Be creative and have personal initiative.
- Be willing to work with a diverse group of people.
- Have a desire to interact with students, families, faculty and staff.
Mentoring First Year Seminars:
First Year Seminar mentors are members of the course instructional team, which consist of: a faculty member, advisor,
librarian, and the student mentor. The mentor’s role is to present themselves as a model student. The mentor helps introduce
students to resources, expectations, successful academic habits and the campus community. During the fall semester mentors
must:
- Be able to commit an average of 5 hours a week to the First Year Seminar Course (including time in class).
- Actively present and participate in the First Year Seminar course.
- Attend all training programs during your scholarship term.

- Be a resident of the State of Indiana
- Have at least a 3.5 cummulative GPA
- Be a member of Alpha Sigma Lambda – Zeta Chi Chapter, IUPUI

The Math and Science Education Scholarship (MSES) Program offered by the Urban Center for the Advancement of Math/Science Education (UCASE), is designed to encourage and to support outstanding students who have had a strong math or science based major and who wish to pursue a career in math or science teaching at the middle and/or high school level. These competitive scholarships provide the annual awards of $2,500 each and they may be renewed for up to three years.
Scholarship eligibility:
1) Student must be enrolled in a science or math based program and have completed at least 25 credits towards the degree.
2) Student must have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 (on a 4.00 scale)
3) Student must provide at least two (2) letters of recommendation, one of which must be from a faculty member of the student’s major at IUPUI.
4) Student must be a citizen or permanent resident of the U.S.
The IUPUI Continuing Student Scholarship application, two letters of recommendation, and a 500-800 word-essay responding to the question: “What experience(s) has motivated you to pursue a career teaching science or mathematics?” must be received by the IUPUI Office of Student Scholarships, CA 103 by March 15.
Eligible students from the under-represented minority groups are encouraged to apply. Please note that a MSES award recipient may not concurrently hold the Dean of Science Scholarship. Created in honor of Zora Neale Hurston and Mari Evans, this scholarship seeks to encourage the study of subjects that transcend gender, race, age, culture and economic status and are designed to support students whose creativity, academic achievements and goals reflect the issues articulated in the works of these two prominent American literary figures. Students seeking a baccalaureate degree in the creative arts, including composing and music performance, liberal arts and social sciences are encouraged to apply. Recipients participate in educational activities each semester. Up to ten $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to continuing IUPUI students. Two scholarships may be renewed for an additional year with maintenance of a 3.0 GPA, full-time enrollment, and selection as an upper-class mentor. The final round of applicants will be invited to interview with the committee.
World Police & Fire Games Scholarship

The World Police and Fire Games fund is intended to assist full time or retired police officers and firefighters in their pursuit of an education. Shared Heritage Scholarship

The Shared Heritage Scholarship was established in 1996 in conjunction with the Shared Heritage exhibition at the Indianapolis Museum of Art in recognition of four African-American artists: John W. Hardwick, William Majors, William E. Scott, and Hale Woodruff. Incoming freshmen or transfer students applying to be full-time students to Herron School of Art and Design are eligible for this scholarship. To be considered for renewal, the student must attend full time and maintain a minimum 2.50 cumulative GPA. A portfolio application is required. Work Program
Earn extra money while studying at IUPUI. The Department of Biology
offers a program, funded by a grant from the campus-wide "Commitment
to Excellence" program, where full-time beginning freshman
students are eligible for up to 10 hours of work per week for
the academic year. The work is open to all science departments
and all liberal arts departments. It provides students an opportunity
to link student work and student learning as a mechanism for retention.
The positions pay $8.00 per hour and can lead to other forms of
student support such as upper division scholarships, employment
in research or teaching labs, and undergraduate research stipends.

Robert Noyce Scholarships $8,000 for a 12 month graduate program to become certified math and science teachers
The Robert Noyce Scholarship program, funded by the National Science Foundation, provides $8,000 scholarships to bachelor degree holders who majored in science, mathematics or engineering and plan to become certified science and mathematics teachers in grades 6-12. The Robert Noyce Scholarship recipients are awarded on the basis of academic merit, with consideration given to financial need and the diversity of participants in the program. The Educational Opportunity Fellowship (EOF) program is
based on the premise that some promising students, although in
financial need, do not fare well in conventional competition for
graduate/professional fellowships. They may have been required
to work excessively while attending school or have emerged from
social and economic groups that are underrepresented in graduate/professional
schools. The amount of the award is dependent upon the amount
of money available and the number of completed applications. In
previous years, the awards have ranged from $1,500- $2,000 for

Army ROTC Scholarships
Tuition and Fees
Four-, three-, and two- year Army ROTC Scholarships will
pay for full college tuition and fees. In addition, a grant for
textbooks and a $1,500 general subsistence allowance are
added for each school year the scholarship is in effect.
Four-year ROTC scholarships are awarded on a competitive
basis to U.S. citizens who will enter college as freshmen.
Applications postmarked by July 15, one year prior to
starting college, are considered for early-cycle scholarships,
with winners announced by Nov. 1. Applications postmarked
after July 15, but no later than Dec. 1, are considered in the
regular cycle, with winners announced byMarch 1. There is

Navy Officer Scholarships
Health Professions Scholarship Program (HPSP) – This
program provides full tuition and fees, as well as a living
stipend of $1279 a month. Students must have at least a 3.0
GPA, for dental students a DAT score of at least 18 or for
medical students an MCAT of 22, provide favorable
references and be a U.S. citizen.
Health Services Collegiate Program (HSCP) – Students in
this program receive a minimum monthly allowance of
$2500, as well as full medical and dental benefits. Students
in this program can be promoted and receive pay increases.
Students must have at least a 3.0 GPA, rank in the top half
of their high school class, provide favorable references and be
a U.S. citizen.
The Dental Student Program – This program offers a
$30,000 signing bonus upon completion of dental school
and starting practice in the Navy as a Dental Officer.
Students must have at least a 3.0 GPA, provide favorable
references and be a U.S. citizen.
Nurse Candidate Program – This program offers a $10,000
signing bonus upon completion of nursing school and up to
$34,000 in scholarships. Students must have at least a 3.0
GPA, provide favorable references and be a U.S. citizen.
Baccalaureate Degree Completion Program – Earn up to
$60,000 while in college and receive medical/dental
coverage. College applies toward active duty retirement.

Air Force ROTC Scholarships
Air Force ROTC offers a variety of ways to get the money you
need for school while requiring only minimal time from you
as a student. But the benefits extend well beyond graduation – starting with a career as an officer in the Air Force straight
out of school. Over 150 career fields are available. The Air
Force currently has a high need for engineers and nurses.
Air Force ROTC scholarships cover tuition, an annual
textbook allowance, most lab fees and $250-$400 spending
cash per academic month. The application deadline for high
school students is December 1st of your senior year. There is
no military commitment until the start of the sophomore
year. Scholarships are also available for students currently in
college.
Beyond that, the benefits of Air Force ROTC are priceless:

Work-Study
Federal Work-Study is one of the best-kept secrets around!
Federal Work-Study is a great job opportunity to help you support
yourself while gaining work experience in college. Advantages
of this program include flexible work schedules built around your
class schedule, work on campus or in the community, earnings exempt
from Social Security taxes, the availability of many jobs in apprentice
career fields, the advantage of work-study income not being reportable
on next year’s FAFSA form, and the positive statistics that
work-study students have higher GPA’s in general than other
students. Working at the university or in the community and getting
a paycheck every two weeks, helps you pay as you go to school.
