Indianapolis Museum of Art
The International Arts and Crafts Movement
Wednesday October 5, 2005
10:30 am
Indianapolis is one of only two American cities to
present this new exhibition. The Victoria and Albert Museum in London
organized “The International Arts and Crafts Movement”.
The movement emphasized individual craftsmanship and the integration
of art into everyday life. It influenced art around the world starting
in late nineteenth century. The exhibit includes ceramics, jewelry,
furniture, painting, and stained glass from Britain, Europe, Japan
and America. Frank Lloyd Wright, Charles Rennie Mackintosh, Gunther
Stickley, William Morris and Tiffany are household names to admirers
