The Freedom Center has 8 permanent exhibits: Brothers of the borderland;
Slave pen; Escape, freedom seekers and the underground railroad;
Suite for freedom; Slavery to freedom; Everyday freedom/ heroes;
Struggle continues and Reflect, respond, resolve. Audio tour guides
are available on MP3 players with or without a headset by Vanessa
Williams and Angela Bassett. Admission is $8.00 for seniors in a
group to be paid on arrival. There is also a charge for parking
in the Central Riverfront Parking Garage. We will have lunch at
the North Star Café which offers a daily special entrée,
side and drink for $4.50 plus tax or has an assortment of soup,
salads, or sandwiches.
The Cincinnati Art Museum is just “down the road a piece”
and has over 60,000 works of art covering 6000 years. Three Rembrandt
Masterpieces will be shown together, Rembrandt: Three Faces of the
Master. These are from the Louvre, Spain and our own IMA. Also on
site is the LeWitt Collection of 100 paintings, sculptures, drawings,
prints and photographs by a variety of esteemed artists (see website).
Admission to the art museum is free. The museum has a scheduled
tour of the museum highlights at 1PM that day. Dinner would be available
there at their Terrace Café as the museum is open until 8:30
PM on Wednesdays serving sandwiches, soups, salads and desserts
along with beer, wine and appetizers created by restaurateur David
Cook.

From Indianapolis follow I 74 to Cincinnati until it becomes I
75 S. Take I 75 S exit at the SECOND STREET DOWNTOWN EXIT. (You
need to be in the second lane from the left to take this exit.)
At the traffic light go STRAIGHT on SECOND STREET. Go 0.4 miles.
Pass the Freedom Center on your right and turn RIGHT on MAIN STREET,
to right on MEHRING WAY, right on CENTRAL AVE., right on Pete Rose
Way to the Central Riverfront Garage.
To Art Museum: Go out to SECOND STREET turn right, take the ramp
to US-50E, keep left at fork continuing onto US-50-E. Go about 0.9
miles, take a slight right at Martin Drive (0.2m), turn left at
Hill Street(0.3m), turn right at Celestial St.(0.2m), Continue on
Ida Street (0.3m), turn right at Art Museum Dr.(0.1M) turns slightly
and becomes Eden Park Dr.
