New NSF Proposal Guidelines

Beginning with the continuing reviews that are sent to investigators in November 2002, the IUPUI Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) will implement a new policy pertaining to studies that continue for five years or longer.

Investigators Must Include a Current Summary Safeguard Statement with Continuing Review
Current study information on the summary safeguard statement (SSS), using the most current version of the form, is required for any study(s) enrolling human subjects (or those that will be enrolling human subjects) when submitting the continuing review form to the IUPUI/Clarian Institutional Review Boards (IRBs). Forward USDA Response Envelope to Biosafety Manager
The Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Notification Form for Select Agents and High Consequence Livestock Pathogens and Toxins has been mass mailed to IUPUI Vice Chancellors, Deans, CLIA Lab Directors, and other staff. To ensure uniform reporting for the IUPUI campus, anyone who receives a form is directed to forward it to the Alternate Responsible Facility Official (RFO), Jim Klenner (Biosafety Manager), at UN 043 for completion and submission.

Research Coordinator Education Program Offered September 25-27, 2002
The Research Coordinator Education Program (RCEP) program is designed to introduce the new research coordinator to the world of clinical research and to provide specific guidance about how to conduct and coordinate clinical drug studies at Indiana University. The three-day session will be held September 25-27, 2002 in "The ROC" in the "Ruth Lilly Learning Center" Conference Rooms A & B, Riley Hospital for Children.
