In October of 2002, the Center hosted a conference in Indianapolis for centers and institutes dedicated to studying religion in America. The directors of 30 different organizations came together to discuss common goals, problems, solutions, and possible joint projects. The Center has continued to promote their work with a reception it hosts each year at the meetings of the AAR/SBL, and with the Centers and Institutes Project booklet, which is revised and updated annually. To receive a copy of the booklet, which presently includes information about over 30 centers and institutes studying religion in the U.S., please contact the Center.
