Emergency Response Training Classes

Offered by the American Red Cross of Greater Indianapolis 317-684-1441

Provides people of all ages with the knowledge and skills that can save lives. Available courses include first aid, CPR, automated external defibrillator (AED), universal precautions, water safety and babysitting. Many courses are offered in a traditional classroom setting, online at the chapter's website or in combination. Call for more information and availability. Must schedule class in advance. Environmental Health and Safety Training Programs

Offered by the IUPUI Environmental Health and Safety Department

The IUPUI EHS Department offers training programs in laboratory safety, biological safety, bloodborne pathogen training, and many other topics.

The Citizen Police Academy

Offered by the the IUPUI Police Department

The program will be a 12-week training session. Applications are available at the Campus Police Headquarters, 1232 W. Michigan Street., on the IUPUI campus. The purpose of the Citizen Police Academy is to increase understanding of the duties and responsibilities of University Police Officers, which can foster cooperative problem solving between police and the University Community.

Citizen Corps Program

Citizen Corps is the large component of USA Freedom Corps that encompasses public education, training, and volunteer opportunities to engage all citizens in making their communities safer, stronger, and better prepared for preventing and handling threats of terrorism, crime, and disasters of all kinds.
