ADVISING
All full-time faculty in the Political Science Department are advisors. All majors should see the Lead Advisor, Dr. Brian Vargus, before they see any other departmental advisor. We have an alphabetical system (by last name) for assigning advisors so, even if the department is never notified that you have become a major you will still have someone to go to for advising. Because all faculty are advisors, if you wish, you may go to an advisor other than the one to whom you are alphabetically assigned. Contact information for each advisor is listed below.
During the summer months, many instructors who are not teaching summer sessions do not come to campus or have office hours. Additionally, almost every school year at least one faculty member is gone on sabbatical. If your advisor is not available please contact Dr. Brian Vargus, our lead advisor, for an appointment.
If you have tried contacting your advisor via email and phone and do not receive a response after two full days, please contact the Political Science Department Office (CA 504J / 317-274-7387) and we will find someone who can assist you.
