Health Insurance for International Scholars at IUPUI
The same health insurance program provided to enrolled international students, is available to all international scholars visiting IUPUI who do not have alternative coverage. Weekly and Monthly rates are available for short-term visitors. Initial payment of at least two months duration is required to secure coverage.
For visiting scholars with visa sponsorship through the Office of International Affairs, information about IUPUI’s health insurance arrangements for international scholars will be sent along with the visa documentation provided by OIA. Specific enrollment information will be given at the international scholar orientation.
Coverage for the 2009-2010 year begins 8/15/2009 and ends 8/14/2010. If you are already enrolled in this program in order to continue the coverage for yourself or for you and your dependents beyond 8/14/09, you must complete the Indiana University 2009-2010 Visiting Scholar Enrollment Form and bring it to the Office of International Affairs for endorsement by the International Affairs staff.
If you are enrolled in the IU employee health insurance program, you must complete the Indiana University SAA/International 2009-2010 On-Call International Student Enrollment Form for supplemental insurance to comply with J-1 regulations.
