- Whether the attorney primarily specializes in immigration law. (We strongly recommend that you work with an attorney who specializes in immigration practice and is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).
- The amount of experience the attorney has with your type of case (ask for an estimate of this type of case handled per year)
- How much the attorney charges for your type of case
- Whether the attorney will provide a free initial consultation
- How comfortable you believe you would be working with this attorney.
