Initiating the H-1B Process
To initiate H-1B visa processing, the hiring units HR liaison must complete the following steps concurrently:
I. Complete Request to process H-1B petition (Requires Adobe Acrobat Reader™ - Free Download).
II. Submit an Add New Person e-doc if the prospective employee does not currently have a university ID number. (Use the search match function before doing the Add a Person e-doc to make sure the new employee has not previously been assigned a University ID number.)
Also obtain completed Personal Profile Form-ED from your prospective employee so that a complete initial University record can be established. These forms can be forwarded to OIA to start the process.
