Health Insurance Options for Faculty
|
|
Some domestic health insurance policies may provide coverage during international travel. You would need to check your current health insurance policy to verify if it will cover you for the duration of your program abroad, and what type of coverage it provides. If your current policy provides coverage, it may only cover accident or illness expenses outside of the United States. Two additional benefits we recommend for both students and faculty are:
Medical Evacuation Medical evacuation pays for the expenses to send the patient to a medical facility or back to the U.S. for medical treatment.
Repatriation of Remains Repatriation covers the expenses to return an individual’s remains to their home country in the event of death.
Personal Accident Insurance through Indiana University's Benefit Plans Note:This is an optional benefit with additional cost. It is not a part of the regular medical insurance plan. If you aren't already enrolled in personal accident insurance, then you can't add it until the next open enrollment period.
HTH Worldwide ~ Note: Student group health insurance is provided through HTH. The Preferred Health Plan and Healthcare Advantage Plans through HTH insurance are available to faculty.
