Director, Center for Interprofessional Health Education and Practice Indiana University seeks an inaugural director and visionary to lead the new Center for Interprofessional Health Education and Practice (CIPHEP). The Director role is an exciting, unique opportunity to build the Center from the ground up, influence state and national policies, and ultimately play a vital role in preparing learners to partner in providing high-quality, team-based care to optimize health. This is a tenured faculty position. The CIPHEP is the result of the University Clinical Affairs Council's (UCA) shared vision to address the growing need to implement, support, and evaluate interprofessional health education and practice. The UCA is comprised of eight deans from the Indiana University's schools of dentistry, nursing, medicine, rehabilitation sciences, optometry, public health (IU and IUPUI campuses), and social work. Their groundwork and longstanding partnerships will enable more robust, interprofessional education for health professions students and poise IU to emerge as a national leader in interdisciplinary education. The CIPHEP will be located on the campus of Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), ranked 7th by U.S. News and World Report in 2012 as an "Up-and-Coming National University." IUPUI is uniquely positioned near the heart of Indianapolis, which has resulted in a deep-rooted tradition of community partnership. Offering more than 250 degrees in 19 schools, IUPUI is Indiana's most comprehensive university. The campus has a health and life sciences focus, with the medical school and nursing school among the largest in the nation. The CIPHEP will serve as an interprofessional hub for the education of 8 health science schools on both the Indianapolis and Bloomington campuses.
