Nurse Scientist in Health Outcomes in Cancer Care Indiana University School of Nursing (IUSON) seeks qualified candidates for a senior level tenure track position with a research focus in health outcomes in cancer patients. This individual will provide leadership in health outcomes research. They will work as part of an interdisciplinary research team at IU Health System, the School of Nursing, School of Medicine and with Cancer Center physicians and scientists, to continue to build a world-class research enterprise to improve health and well-being of individuals with cancer. Qualified applicants must hold an earned doctorate in nursing or a doctorate in a related field with a graduate degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing. Experience in a proven research program in the area of behavioral oncology and a track record of external funding from the National Institutes of Health or the equivalent, teaching experience in higher education; leadership as a senior faculty member, and interpersonal skills necessary to serve as a mentor for students and faculty colleagues are required. Successful applicants must also have a record of scholarship suitable for a senior tenure-track position at the associate or full professor rank as well as experience appropriate for appointment. The Indiana University School of Nursing is one of the largest nursing schools in the nation that offers a full range of programs from BSN to PhD. Ranked 9th among public schools of nursing (11th overall) for National Institutes of Health (NIH) funding, the school boasts a robust program of research focused on quality of life in chronic illness, education and behavioral oncology. A full 40% of Indiana's nurses are IU School of Nursing alumni. Programs range from three undergraduate options, eight tracks in the master's program, post-master's options, a post masters DNP, and a PhD in nursing science. The school houses a T-32 Institutional Training grant with pre and post doctoral scholars in Health Behavior from NINR, and an R-25 in Interdisciplinary Training in Behavioral Oncology from NCI. U.S. News & World Report ranked the graduate programs 15th in its 2012 Best Graduate School rankings, with adult clinical nurse specialist ranked third.
