Academic Emergency Physicians The Department of Emergency Medicine (EM) at the Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM) is seeking highly motivated BC/BE applicants to serve as Clinical Educators, Researchers, and Ultrasound trained emergency pysicians. We are hiring individuals at all academic ranks who are interested in developing a career in academic emergency medicine or pediatric emergency medicine. Applicants must be board certified/board eligible in emergency medicine, pediatric emergency medicine, or dual emergency medicine/pediatrics. Our mission to lead in EM is partnered with our commitment to developing your career as a faculty member. Our department is home to divisions of education, medical informatics, medical toxicology, out-of-hospital care, pediatric emergency medicine, research, and ultrasound. Faculty research is currently supported by over $4 million in NIH grants. Faculty teach residents from one of the longest running EM training programs in the nation, as well as off-service residents and senior medical students. We are recruiting faculty to provide clinical services at three of our academic hospitals including Methodist (a level 1 trauma center with an annual volume of over 110,000 visits), Riley Hospital for Children (a level 1 trauma center, burn unit, and tertiary-care facility with a volume of 36,000 and admission rate of 20%), and Eskenazi Health (formerly Wishard - a level 1 trauma center and burn unit with an annual volume of 100,000 visits) county hospital and IU teaching partner.
