Research Associate Position Department of Microbiology and Immunology Indiana University School of Medicine Indianapolis, Indiana The Nelson lab is looking for a full time Research Associate with experience in bacterial pathogenesis and cultivation independent microbial identification approaches to perform research and on C. trachomatis microbiome interactions in the urogenital tract, to start on January 1, 2013. This position primarily involves research (75%) and research lab management (25%). The ideal individual would have at least two years experience in molecular microbiology, pathogenesis of intracellular bacterial pathogens and eukaryotic cell culture. Prior laboratory management experience and willingness to work with animals is essential. This position also requires work with human pathogens, and potentially infectious clinical specimens, in appropriate containment facilities on a daily basis. The initial appointment is for one year with renewal being contingent upon performance and continued external funding. Required Qualifications: Minimum qualifications are a BS in microbiology, although a MS degree in microbiology or related fields is preferred.
