Faculty Position in Cancer Epidemiology Rank: Professor or Associate Professor We seek a senior cancer epidemiologist with a track record of NIH and other peer-reviewed funding and a currently active research program in cutting edge areas such as molecular and genetic cancer epidemiology, to lead the Department of Public Health (DPH) and IU Simon Cancer Center research program in cancer epidemiology. A qualified applicant will have an international reputation as a leader in cancer epidemiology, demonstrated success in mentoring pre- and post-doctoral fellows and junior faculty, and graduate level teaching experience. Responsibilities will include graduate level teaching in epidemiology, continuing an active and peer-review funded research program, and collaboration with other DPH and IUPUI faculty. There is the opportunity to hold an endowed chair. There also will be the opportunity to lead the Ph.D. program in Epidemiology and to serve as Division Director for Epidemiology and Environmental Health. The Indiana University School of Medicine is the country's second largest medical school and is internationally recognized for excellence in research and teaching. The school's Department of Public Health and Council on Education in Public Health (CEPH) accredited public health program is undergoing energetic growth, including a doctoral program in epidemiology which has just matriculated its second cohort of students. An important component of both the educational and research mission in public health is the School of Medicine's Department of Biostatistics-the only department of biostatistics in Indiana. This faculty collaborates with public health faculty in other disciplines and has an extensive track record in peer-reviewed, funded research. There are many resources and collaborators on the IUPUI campus that contribute to our successes in cancer research. The IU Simon Cancer Center is an NCI designated center, with an expanding program in population sciences. The Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute, funded by NIH, is a national leader in the development of translational research. The Regenstrief Institute is world renowned for its work in health informatics and healthcare research. The DPH has well-established and expanding collaborations with each of these groups and with many others. For faculty carrying out laboratory-based research, there are state of the art laboratories available in our new cancer research building.
