Indiana University School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics Riley Hospital for Children Director, Sickle Cell Disease Program Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor The Department of Pediatrics, Section of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology is recruiting for a full-time faculty position at the Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor level, with the primary focus of directing the sickle cell disease program. Riley Hospital for Children cares for 250-300 children with sickle cell disease. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team of two other physicians, nurses, neurologists, psychologists and social workers who care for these children. The candidate must hold an MD or MD/PhD degree, and be BE/BC in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology. He/she should possess a strong background and interest in clinical or translational research in pediatric hematology. Physician scientists are encouraged to apply. Protected time and support for research in this area is provided. MD candidates must be eligible for medical licensure in the state of Indiana. Riley Hospital for Children is the only comprehensive Children's Hospital in the state. Over 200 new oncology patients are diagnosed each year. There are currently 25 faculty members in Hematology-Oncology, and the hospital has active programs in: Neuro-Oncology, Stem Cell Transplantation, Oncology survivorship, New agent Phase I program (NCI-supported), and Neurofibromatosis clinical research.
