The Department of Urology is seeking a BC/BE urologist who is fellowship trained in general urology. This position will have responsibility for adult patient care, teaching residents and medical students, and research. The successful candidate will join an established department with thirteen full-time faculty. The urology residency program includes 14 residents and the fellowship program includes 5 fellows. Founded in 1903, The Indiana University School of Medicine has the second largest student body in the United States. It employs 1,391 full-time faculty, 92 part-time faculty, and 1,818 volunteer faculty. The clinical faculty is comprised of 821 specialists and 175 primary care clinicians. The Indiana University School of Medicine is located on the campus of Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI). The campus is situated adjacent to vibrant downtown Indianapolis, yet accessible from highly desirable suburban areas. Indiana University Health's hospitals-Riley Hospital for Children- IU Health, IU Health-University, and IU Health - Methodist currently record approximately 1 million inpatient and outpatient visits per year. In addition, the Indiana University Melvin and Bren Simon Cancer Center opened its doors in the fall of 2008. The affiliated hospitals-Wishard and Roudebush VA together handle another 1 million patient visits each year. Salary and rank will be commensurate with training.
