Research Professor at the Krannert Institute of Cardiology The Krannert Institute of Cardiology, Department of Medicine, Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis, Indiana, is recruiting a Basic Scientist to serve on the faculty. The scientist will be appointed as Assistant, Associate or Full professor (with tenure or on the tenure track depending upon qualifications). A secondary appointment will be available in Physiology, Biochemistry, or Pharmacology. The successful candidate must have either a PhD or MD degree, and extensive experience in the study of cardiac calcium handling proteins at the cellular or membrane levels. He/she must be able to mentor medical students, graduate students, residents and/or fellows in basic research related to calcium and its role in cardiovascular disease. It is highly desirable for the holder of this position to have secured long term NIH funding, and to have demonstrated the ability to collaborate with others in basic cardiovascular research. Qualified individuals will be eligible for start up funds, dedicated laboratory space and relocation costs.
