Indiana University School of Dentistry is the only dental school in the Hoosier state and educates 85% of the dentists practicing in Indiana.  Located on the IUPUI campus just west of Downtown Indianapolis, the School offers an extraordinary learning environment in which teaching, research and community service come together in the best way possible for the preparation of tomorrow's dental professionals.
IUSD invites applicants to apply for the position of Chair of the Department of Prosthodontics.  Department Chairs are responsible for recruitment, search and screen, and on-boarding of new faculty.  They also have budgetary oversight and are responsible for assigning others tasks to meet the missions of the Department and the School.  The successful applicant will spend approximately 40% time in the leadership and other administrative duties as Chair.  Other primary responsibilities include oversight of a postgraduate program dental clinic, patient care, teaching in both the pre-dental and Graduate Prosthodontics programs, and research.  
This position is tenured or tenure track.  Tenure track applicants will need to identify their area of expertise in research, teaching or service.  The School's tenure track runs seven years.  The appointment includes the opportunity to participate one day a week in either an intra- or extramural private practice.
Qualifications:  Completion of a dental or post-doctoral prosthodontics program accredited by the Commission of Dental Accreditation is required.  Candidates must be a Diplomate of or educationally qualified for the American Board of Prosthodontics.  Only applicants who meet these specific requirements will be considered.  The successful appointee must obtain an Indiana Dental License.  Rank and salary will be based on credentials and experience.
