  1. The University application is required to take courses at IUPUI. If you need to take a statistics prerequisite, please submit a graduate non-degree nursing application. Note: there is no extra fee to submit a non-degree application. When you see the "waive fee" option, click on "department approved."
  2. To apply to the MSN program, please submit a graduate degree-seeking application, for the term in which you plan to begin the program. Select Graduate Nursing as the program to which you are applying. There is a $60.00 application fee with this application.
  3. Complete the MSN Departmental Questions.
  4. Submit official college and/or university transcripts from all institutions attended except Indiana University. We will print your IU transcript and put that in your submitted application packet.
  5. Submit a copy of your current Indiana RN license. Evidence of a current, active, unencumbered license to practice as a registered practitioner of nursing in the state of Indiana is required. International applicants not yet licensed by any state in the U.S. must submit evidence of passing the CGFNS exam before applying for an RN license in Indiana.
  6. Submit an essay (goal statement) of 200-250 words explaining your career goals, reasons for your choice of major, and why you want to pursue an advanced degree in nursing.
  7. Applicants must agree to and submit School of Nursing essential abilities form (PDF) which states that students can demonstrate essential abilities in a variety of areas (judgment, neurological function, communication skills, emotional coping skills, intellectual/conceptual skills, and other behavioral attributes) as well as meeting all progression criteria.
  8. Submit, along with your packet materials, three references using the Graduate Student Appraisal Form. At least two of your references should hold a Master's in Nursing degree.
