Richard B. Rodgers, M.D.

Dr. Richard (Ben) Rodgers is an Assistant Professor of Neurological Surgery at Indiana University Medical Center, and Director of Neurotrauma and Neurocritical Care. Dr. Rodgers' areas of special interest include head and spinal cord injury, spinal surgery including instrumentation, and tumors of the nervous system. He has presented research on these topics at national neurosurgery meetings.

Dr. Rodgers was born and raised in northwest Indiana. He received a Bachelor of Science from Indiana University, followed by a Medical Degree from Indiana University School of Medicine, where he was a Pittman Surgical Scholar. He completed his neurosurgical residency at Indiana University, and was awarded an outstanding teacher award by his faculty and fellow residents. He completed a fellowship in neurotrauma and neurocritical care in Miami, Florida as the Congress of Neurological Surgeons Cushing Clinical Fellow. Following this fellowship, he joined the faculty of the Department of Neurological Surgery at IUMC. Dr. Rodgers is a member of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the Joint Sections on Neurotrauma and Brain Tumors. He is married, and has two children.
