The Department of Neurosurgery at Indiana University in Indianapolis is known throughout the state and country as a leader in the advancement of Neurological Surgery education, training, and patient care. Our highly trained surgeons offer services for the care of pediatric and adult problems of the brain, spine and peripheral nerves.

We offer the latest neurological treatments for brain and spinal tumors, skull base tumors, pituitary tumors, epilepsy, seizure disorders, intracranial aneurysms, intracranial arteriovenous malformations, carotid occlusive disease, head injury, and spinal problems, including spinal instrumentation. New non-invasive and minimally invasive programs include stereotactic surgery, pallidotomies for Parkinson's disease, radiosurgery using the gamma knife, endoscopy, and glycerol injections for trigeminal neuralgia.

Although most patients are seen at the Indiana University/Clarian facilities, patients can also be evaluated at sites in Danville, Carmel, and Kokomo. The Indiana University/Clarian Hospitals include Indiana University Hospital, the internationally renowned James Whitcomb Riley Children's Hospital, Methodist Hospital, Wishard MemorialHospital, and the Roudebush Veteran's Administration Hospital. Both Wishard Memorial and Riley Children's Hospitals are Level I Trauma Centers.
