Geriatrics Interest Group

The Geriatrics SIG exists to inform students about the field geriatrics, from the importance of the field to the various job opportunities in geriatrics. We also emphasize the importance of service to elders (such as spending time at Lockefield Village and sponsoring Spring House Calls) and provide educational lunches on important concepts in treating the elderly that apply to all fields of interest. We encourage research in the field and try to help students make the most of their interest in geriatrics by providing contacts with residents, attendings and opportunities to serve as leaders and to go to conferences for further education/networking.
