for the Dean-Appointed positions included the Curriculum Council Committee, Academic Standards Committee, Admissions Committee, RCCI, TLAC and OSR. Interviews for the MSC-Appointed positions included Co-Chairs of the Iatrogenesis Newspaper, Peer Advising Program, Admissions Ambassadors and St. Vitus Dance. On February 4th, an MSC committee of 40 student interviewers, comprised mostly of current position holders conducted 110 interviews on 57 applicants. The current MSC President Prashant Patel and Vice-President Michael Veronesi are now working with the interview committee to handle the extensive applicant recommendation process and hope to provide Stephen Bogdewic, Dean of the faculty and Professional Development, with the names of the top applicants for Dean-Appointd positions. These recommendations along with the MSC-Appointed designations will be sent out some time in early March

The long list of positions this year (45) includes a sizeable number of relatively new positions such as the Admissions Comittee Rep, Student Computer Task force member and the Competency Liaison Teams position. Acceptance of student positions onto the Admissions Committee was spearheaded last year by immediate past MSC president Anthony Harris in conjunction with Dean Stephen Leapman. The success of this venture marks an important point in the IU School of Medicine's initiative to partner with students in helping to improve the quality of the medical education. The SCTF as well as the GQTF were appointed by the MSC President Anthony Harris last year, but this year is the first year that applicants for these positions underwent the formal interview process on February 4th. The MSC-Competency Liaison position was ratified by the MSC about a month ago in hopes of facilitating communication between the Competency Teams and the medical student body.
