Intercampus Transfer
Visiting Intercampus Transfer
Each
campus has established one office or person to serve as the central information
source for students visiting from another IU campus.
Some campuses have priority dates
for students to declare an interest in making an intercampus transfer. Even if a
campus has no priority date, it is important to start investigating the transfer
requirements as early as possible to assure the best possibility of enrolling in
your desired courses.
Follow these steps:
- Meet with your home campus
academic advisor to identify course(s) you could take at another IU campus
while home for the summer or for a single Fall or Spring term. Determine
with your advisor how the course(s) would meet the degree requirements on
your home campus.
- Review
course offerings in
OneStart. You are responsible for assuring you
are eligible to enroll in a course which requires specific prerequisites or
has other enrollment restrictions.
- If applicable, talk to the
financial aid offices at the present and proposed campuses. Your aid
eligibility does not transfer automatically from one campus to another.
- If you decide to proceed with
the transfer, complete the intercampus transfer form. The receiving campus
will respond to you and your home campus.
- Register for classes. Your grade
for the term will be added automatically to your IU transcript. Additional
information about registration is available from the Office of the Registrar
at each campus
Consult the intercampus transfer
office at the proposed new campus if academic and/or eligibility questions
remain. Remember that application for intercampus transfer does not guarantee
admission to the campus or to a specific school on the campus. Campuses may
provide additional information and contact points for questions.
