Reach Out and Read (ROAR)

 

 

WHAT:  National program that focuses on introducing books and literacy to children through clinical settings by passing out free new books to 0-5-year old patients at their biannual well-child checkups, distributing gently-used books to sick children and their siblings, and reading and interacting with children in clinic waiting rooms.  Student volunteers read to children while they are waiting to been seen at the Cottage Corner Health Clinic.

WHO:  Any medical student.  

WHEN:  Flexible schedule.

WHERE:  Cottage Corner Health Clinic, just south of Fountain Square
